Lappeenranta is an international centre of tourism and higher education

Lappeenranta is a popular international tourist destination and university city with first-class, rail, air, and road connections. The city’s excellent logistics location and good networks makes Lappeenranta a valuable meeting point with a great variety of activities on offer.

Lappeenranta is a city of about 72 000 inhabitants in Southeast Finland, on the border between the European Union and Russia. The city offers plenty of services and shopping opportunities, and companies are well-versed in doing business in English and Russian also.

Exotic tourist services are combined with a unique lake environment in this city on the southern shore of Lake Saimaa, the fifth largest lake in Europe.

The Old Town, also called the Fortification, in the centre of the city and the harbour are the primary locations for musical and other events. In summertime lake and canal cruises and trips to Vyborg in Russia are available from the harbour.

Lappeenranta Spa at the City harbour specializes in wellness treatments. The range of services will be extended in the summer of 2011, when the new Holiday Club entertainment spa will be opened at the magnificent Saimaa Gardens spa and leisure centre.
