Lappeenranta City Theatre

Historical documents state that theatre activities have been a regular part of cultural life in Lappeenranta since 1850. Since 1949, the Lappeenranta City Theatre has acted as the communal theatre.

Lappeenranta City Theatre is a provincial repertoire theatre that offers a variety of quality artistic experiences to residents of Lappeenranta as well as visitors. Our theatrical performances combine the public interest of public with the artistic challenges of those working in theatre.

The repertoire of the Lappeenranta City Theatre includes musicals, domestic and foreign classics, comedies and farce. It is our honour to also produce new Finnish plays on stage.

Our repertoire also observes children and we produce high-quality children’s plays  directed to the entire family.

Our theatre also offers visiting performances by interesting domestic and foreign theatre groups.
