Culture

Culture is close to the hearts of Lappeenranta residents. There are over ten different choirs or orchestras in the city, and quite a generous offering of concerts. Lappeenranta has a permanent orchestra and theatre, and several amateur theatres.

The City also runs seven libraries and nine museums and the 850-seat Lappeenranta Hall at the City Hall. It is a venue for concerts, conferences and other events.

The Cultural Office of Lappeenranta is using all means possible to quarantee the availability of creative activities to city residents for the future.

Among other things, the Cultural Office rents and reserves premises for cultural activities, arranges cultural events and art education, and gathers and distributes information on cultural services.
