Lappeenranta provincial library
The libraries of South Karelia are here to serve you!
The Lappeenranta provincial library is the largest in South Karelia, serving as the region's central library. Lappeenranta also has nine neighbourhood libraries and a library bus. Completed in 1974, the central library was designed by Architect Erkki Pasanen.
Municipal libraries in South Karelia (Imatra, Lemi, Parikkala, Rautjärvi, Ruokolahti, Savitaipale and Taipalsaari) form a single library service known as the Heili Libraries. A single library card is accepted in all Heili Libraries. You can borrow interesting books, movies, music, electronic materials, magazines, etc. The library offers plenty of literature and other materials in languages other than Finnish. You can use library computers or connect your own device to the library's wireless network (saitaOpen, no password needed).
Anyone can use the library free of charge. Anyone can also get a library card immediately. Simply bring identification with you when you come to get a card.
If you want personal guidance on how to use the library, the staff will be happy to help you.
Welcome to the library!
