Initial assessment pursuant to the Act on the Promotion of Immigrant Integration
The initial assessment promotes the integration of people who have recently moved to Finland and their participation in Finnish society.
During the initial assessment, we will tell you about Finnish society, studying Finnish or Swedish, employment, education, services suitable for you and, for example, hobbies in the municipalities of South Karelia. We can talk via an interpreter when necessary.
The initial assessment is free of charge.
The service advisers do not make decisions on the services.

Requirements
The initial assessment carried out by Immigrant Services is aimed at those immigrants in South Karelia who are on family leave, studying, retired, working or receiving income support from Kela and who are not clients of the Employment and Economic Development Office.
Instructions
For the initial assessment, you must book an appointment in advance with the South Karelia Immigrant Services office either by calling or by submitting a written appointment and contact request.
During the appointment, we will assess your need for the initial assessment.
When you have booked an appointment with South Karelia Immigrant Services, please come to the right office at the agreed time.
