The city invites everyone to participate in its jubilee week

The city of Lappeenranta is celebrating its 370th anniversary in a spectacular fashion. Numerous events invite participants to enjoy culture, workshops and live music, without forgetting local history.

Sataman valot_kuva Minna Kivistö_370x246.jpgThe selection of culture is quite extensive as the Lappeenranta Ballet Gala, the celebration concert of the City Orchestra and the local Pallorock festival entertain residents of all ages. The Harbour Lights event offers a great time together while admiring fireworks against the darkening sky. The art@bars event steeped in culture attracts participants to the city’s cafés and nightclubs to have fun.

The week is topped off with the Fortress Lights event, which includes plenty to do until nightfall. Activities have been planned for the whole family. Children can enjoy the rides at the Sandcastle from 9 am to 5 pm free of charge. History buffs can follow the cavalry parade, which starts at 1 pm from Pusupuisto Park and works its way to Katariina Square. In the afternoon at 2 pm, the Lappeenranta 370 Years celebration gala will be held in the party marquee with the City Orchestra and the Dragoon Band setting a festive atmosphere. A full evening of music and singing will continue in the marquee from 7 pm to midnight with local and visiting stars taking the stage. The evening will culminate in a fireworks display at midnight, before which you can enjoy festive lights switched on at 9 pm and atmospheric fires at the Fortress.
