Lappeenranta yhteislyseo is a general upper secondary school that offers a wide range of subjects, allowing every student to find studies that match their interests. Students study in Finnish, and the Matriculation Examinations at the end of upper secondary education are also taken in Finnish.

Results of the joint application procedure

You will be notified of your upper secondary school place through Studyinfo when the results of the joint application procedure are published.

Accepting a study place

A link for accepting your study place will be sent to the email address provided in your application. Students are requested to accept their study place as soon as possible after the results are published. If you do not accept the study place by the specified deadline, you will lose your right to study.

If you do not intend to accept the place offered to you, please inform the upper secondary school that selected you as soon as possible.

Admission to general upper secondary education

The entry requirement for general upper secondary education is the successful completion of the basic education syllabus.

If there are more applicants than available places, students are selected based on the grade point average calculated from the following subjects on the basic education certificate:

• mother tongue and literature
• second national language
• foreign languages
• religion or ethics
• history
• social studies
• mathematics
• physics
• chemistry
• biology
• health education
• geography

At the request of a guardian, the grade awarded in an optional A2 or B3 language may be excluded from the student's certificate. The grade point average is rounded to the nearest hundredth.

If two or more applicants have the same grade point average, selection is based first on the applicants’ order of preference in the application and then on the arithmetic mean of the grades achieved in the subjects listed above, as well as physical education, crafts, home economics, music and visual arts.

The minimum grade point average required for admission to Lappeenranta yhteislyseo upper secondary school is 7.00.

The admission grade point average may be higher than 7.00 if the available places are filled by applicants with higher grade point averages.

You will be offered a place in the highest-ranked study option on your application list for which your grade point average is sufficient. You should therefore rank your study options in the order of interest.

The order of preferences in the joint application procedure is binding.

In the joint application procedure, you can only be selected for a study programme for which you have applied.
