If working on a Saturday is an established form of cooperation between guardians and the school, schools can work on one Saturday of their choice during the school year. In such cases, they may take the day off on some other day during the school year, as long as it is not at the beginning or end of the school year.

Applying for leave

Pupils can apply to the class teacher, homeroom teacher or principal for leave from school. As a rule, a teacher may grant leave for a maximum of five days and longer holidays are granted by the principal of the school. In some schools, the principal has authorised teachers to grant leave for a maximum of five days.

More detailed instructions can be found on the website of each school.
