Sustainable Lappeenranta Network

The City of Lappeenranta has invited a working group consisting of regional actors to promote the achievement of environmental goals, such as carbon neutrality.
The Sustainable Lappeenranta Network promotes local climate
cooperation
The European Commission selected the City of Lappeenranta for an EU mission together with other leading climate cities. The cities chosen for the mission will develop an action plan that will be implemented in cooperation with businesses and residents. The City of Lappeenranta’s Climate City Contract includes the measures through which the city aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
The City of Lappeenranta invited organizations operating in the region to participate in advancing the climate goals. Close cooperation and the sharing of good practices are also intended to strengthen the region’s competitiveness.
The goal of the network is for its members to encourage and support the City of Lappeenranta in its ambitious climate work. Other objectives include monitoring the emission level and the implementation of the action plan.
