Loistava Lappeenranta event in November: a community challenge for Lappeenranta residents to create light installations

Loistava Lappeenranta, Shining Lappeenranta light art event, taking place from November 14 to 23, 2025, challenges residents, communities, and businesses to bring light and color to the darkness of November.

"We are now looking for individuals, companies, and other communities to join the event and create light works for everyone to enjoy," says Nelly Hakkarainen, Cultural Coordinator for the City of Lappeenranta.  

A light installation could be, for example, an illuminated building, a shop window, an outdoor installation, or even a window in your home. Companies, associations, and individuals can all take part in the challenge. 

"The installation can be anywhere in Lappeenranta – the only limit is your creativity!" Hakkarainen encourages.  

You can register your light installation for the event by filling out the online form by November 1, 2025. 

"We will create a map of all the locations, which will encourage people to go out for an evening walk in November to see the light installations. The most memorable light installations will be rewarded with cultural prizes.
