Alisa Vainio Public Celebration on 22.8.2026 at 15.30 – Traffic Arrangements

A public celebration in honour of Alisa Vainio will be held at Lappeenranta Harbour Square on 22.8.2026 at 15.30. All programme activities will take place on the stage at Harbour Square.

During the celebration, part of Satamatie and Kipparinkatu will be closed to vehicle traffic between the Old Customs House and Ainonkatu. Access to Satamatie and Kipparinkatu will not be possible from the directions of Vallikatu, Torikatu or Ainonkatu. There will also be no parking available in the Harbour Square area.

Access to properties in the harbour area will be permitted in accordance with the instructions of traffic controllers. However, residents in the area are asked to avoid unnecessary vehicle use during the event.

The street closures will be removed immediately after the event has ended.

The City of Lappeenranta encourages visitors to arrive on foot, by bicycle or by public transport. Those arriving by car are encouraged to use parking facilities in the city centre, such as the Williparkki parking garages.

Please note that on 22.8.2026, there will also be other temporary traffic arrangements in the harbour and City Bay areas before the celebration due to the Lappeenranta Half running event.

Personal Drones Prohibited

The City of Lappeenranta reminds visitors that the public celebration for Alisa Vainio is a public event and that flying a personal drone within the event area is strictly prohibited.

The event will also be filmed from the air by the city's official photographer and by media representatives who have submitted the required notification and are operating in accordance with separate instructions issued by the city.
