Lappeenranta celebrates its 375th anniversary in August – see the programme for the Anniversary Day 10 August 2024
This year, the City of Lappeenranta celebrates its 375th anniversary with the Lappeenranta 375 Celebration Week that culminates in the great Anniversary Day on 10 August.
Event Production Coordinator Riikka Hjelt of the City of Lappeenranta is happy about the programme for the Anniversary Day:
“The main idea in putting together the programme has been to make sure that everyone will definitely find something that interests them – there’s plenty to choose from. International tourists may be especially interested in the return of the traditional humppa dance to Lappeenranta with the Humppafestivaali festival. Another interesting number in the programme is that people have been invited to show off their national costumes!”
Partners in the Lappeenranta 375 celebrations also include OP Etelä-Karjala and Lappeenrannan Energia.
“We are happy to join the celebration of the 375th jubilee year and participate in arranging the festive concerts held at the Fortress with free admission for all tourists and local residents. The vitality of our region is extremely important to us, which is why we are actively involved in supporting local events to make this a good and comfortable place for people to live in – and visit,” says Anna-Leena Kaarna, Marketing and Communication Manager of OP Etelä-Karjala.
Customer Relationship and Digital Services Manager Sami Pesonen from Lappeenrannan Energia is also delighted about the cooperation:
