Demarcation in a detailed plan area

If a boundary marker indicating a boundary of the plot has disappeared or there is a dispute or doubt about the position of a boundary between two plots, the determination of a boundary may be executed at the written application of the plot owner.


Demarcation can be applied for electronically via the online service or using a printable form, which can be requested from the property formation services. For more information and operating instructions, contact the land surveyor at the property formation services of the City of Lappeenranta.

The applicant for demarcation may be the owner or co-owner of the property, the leaseholder, the municipality or a person whose right is directly concerned in the demarcation.

In the detailed plan areas of the City of Lappeenranta, the City of Lappeenranta is responsible for demarcation; elsewhere, the responsible party is the National Land Survey of Finland.

Payment information

A fee is charged for the service.

The City of Lappeenranta confirms cadastral procedure- related payments with a separate decision by the decision-making body.
